Mythical Journeys

Mythical Journeys is a fantastic Live-Roleplaying game based in Pomfret, Connecticut. I highly recommend it to anyone who lives within 2 or 3 states of Connecticut (although we have players who come from as far away as Florida). I've been involved since it began in September of 1996, originally as a player and currently as a plot writer, cast member, and game manager. To find out more about Mythical Journeys, click here.

While I was a player, my character was Daoloth Of Thorabon, the former High Priest Of Freehold. Then he “died” and I played “Tempest.” Then “Tempest” proved to still be Daoloth. Then he really died. No, really, this time I mean it. Well, basically. Now I'm cast, and I play lots of things, including Master Morchentus of the Alchemy Guild, Theocrat Kaman-Tha of the Temple of Arcane Truth, some guy in the woods no one ever talks to, and various people who might try to kill you. But I've left the page for Daoloth, the The Temple Of The Moon And Stars, as some kind of living memorial. Not terribly up-to-date, now that he's dead and all. Just a little piece of history. Someday it too will be gone. (Note the date: the page is dated 257, and the current year, 2005 in the real world, is 262.)

Some more history can be found in the Temple, or linked right here: the Tome of Stars, a holy book of Dalean; the Spiritual Cycle of the Year, detailing some of the holy times of the gods; the Account of Judgement at the end of the Campaign of Blood; and a collection of Writings on Faith by residents of Freehold compiled to educate pilgrims (and others) about the gods and their followers.

MJ-Legends

Mythical Journeys and Legends Roleplaying have a Cast Swap. Players at one game who cast for the other earn character points for their character. This has enhanced both games tremendously, and it can be very enlightening to see a game from “the other side.” If you play one of the games and are interested in casting for the other, I have created a short guide to the differences between the games. Not a replacement for the rulebook, think of it as a quick-start guide.

Finally, for no particular reason, here is a picture of Daoloth as he was before he died (more or less) and a rare picture from Daoloth's childhood (apparently Famori charaks don't come in until a slightly older age). Daoloth's parents, of course, wanted him to study magic at the Arcanum, like any good Dumarian Famori.
